I was born in the u.k in 1965 and i have a copy of my birth cirtificate can i have the british pport?

my mother is british and she is living in the u.k now.there is no contact between us.my father was born in iraq but he had the british citizenship in 1975 .he has my original birth cirtificate but he can not send it to me .i live in iraq now .can i have the british pport from the british emby in syria?
