Does this paragraph make sense?

Mike the cop and queeine are portrayed as god, or the path to happiness. In the book “Harlem Renaissance” mike gives Dennis a second chance. Mike says, “I am going to take a gamble. Something tells me that there’s more brains in that big head of yours than you realize. He took a deep breath, looking skyward, as though searching for a divine tiebreaker, before sternly motioning his head toward the stairwell. Get out of here! He barked.” Just like Dennis, Sammy is given a second chance because of queeine. She was so high up she didn’t care that she was walking into A & P only with a bikini and she didn’t even notice when Sammy quit his job for her. Lengel the store manger says, “Sammy you don’t want to do this to your mom and dad,” he tells me. Its true I don’t but once you begin a gesture its fatal not to go through with it. I fold the apron; “Sammy” stitched in red on the pocket, and put it on the counter, and drop the bow tie on top of it. “You’ll feel this for the rest of your life” Lengel says, and I know that true, too, but remembering how he made that pretty girl blush makes me so scrunchy inside I punch the no sale tab and the machine whirs “pee-pul” and the drawer splats out. I look around for my girls, but they’re gone, of course.”
