the original versions, the pigs did get eaten. In the original version of Cinderella, one of the step sisters cuts off her toe to try and make the gl slipper fit and the other one cuts off her heel. You should read them sometime - very different than what we grew up with. It is quite gruesome for little kids so they cleaned them up a bit.
